These Simple Techniques Will Overcome Anxiety

When it comes to experiencing complete bliss and calmness, the mindfulness of the body is a very important tool. By paying attention to the physical movements and sensation of your body, it is easy to shift your attention from those thoughts that may lead to stress.

Once this is done, your emotions can be settles, and you will be more at ease and calm. Also, another perk you will likely enjoy from practising mindfulness this way is the long term effect and changes it has on your brain.

With such changes to your brain, it will be very easy for you to be less reactive emotionally, and your tendency to give up on situations will be reduced. However, your body on it own has an inherent and more direct effect on your emotional reactions.

The way you hold your body, the posture you adopt, all contributes to the way you feel, and the sum effect of all of these can be measured.

According to research, it has been shown that sitting up straight increases the likelihood of an individual having positive thoughts as well as the ability to remember good memories.  On the contrary, a slump position is linked to thoughts of depression and bad memories.

In an attempt to show the importance of posture to the human lives, Adam D. Galinsky and Li Huang from Northwestern University carried out some research on posture. In the research, it was shown that posture was a major determinant of whether or not people take action or are powerful.

Well, one good thing about posture and how we feel is that is something that one can easily change. Yes, you can even put it into practice right away. As a matter of fact, you should engage in a standing meditation where you take up a Wonder Woman or Super Man pose.

Similarly, you can also try out to take a sitting in a power posture. In doing this, you sit erect while keeping your head high, and your hands and legs taking up some spaces all around you. while doing this, you should be careful of slouching because is a contributing factor to the feeling of despondency, fatigue and even the feeling of powerlessness. With such feelings, your thoughts are most likely to wander out of control.

Make this a regular practice, and always go back to this posture throughout the day. Keep on doing this even when you are standing or sitting at your home, office, walking or even driving. While doing this, give some thoughts to what it feels like to stand, walk or sit with some level of confidence.

Once these thoughts echo within you, watch out for the effect of such thoughts on the way you will feel. Keep repeating this for as many times as possible within a day, and for at least 3-5 minutes, engage yourself in a power pose.

Well, to many people, they may experience some feelings of anxiety when trying to adopt a more confident posture. This happens because they usually feel or think in this way “I am nobody to display such level of confidence.”

In case you experience this, always call to mind that this is only but a short term feeling that will soon pass away. More so, always remember also that the changes that are going on psychologically within you are most likely to evoke a sense of confidence and strength within you.
